| IT, Biotechnology, Electronics, Telecommunications, Engineering Industries, Garments, Floriculture, Food Processing, Agro based industries, Bangalore is busy bee city of IT & BT nick named "Garden City" of India, also called as "air-conditioned city" is the capital of Karnataka. The city boasts of the adage "Pensioners Paradise" is the fastest growing mega city in India. It is called the Silicon Valley of the east. Situated 1000 Mts. Above the sea level has salubrious climate. Hence, I attract many people to this city. It is a cosmopolitan city having an excellent year round climate. The city is studded with beautifully laid out parks, gardens, wide trees lined avenues, imposing building, giving aesthetic look to the city. Bangalore, which literally means the town of baked beans, was founded by Kempe Gowda, a chieftain of Vijayanagar Empire around 16th century. History speaks that the Chola king veera ballala in the year 1120 AD who ruled the Deccan plateau on hunting trip to the forest lost his way. Famished after a long search he met an old lady who offered him shelter for the night and served him baked beans for dinner. To show his gratitude to the old lady the king later constructed a town and named it as 'Benda Kalooru' which means 'Baked Beans'. It is believed that Kempegowda who built the city of Bangalore in 1537 AD used a more anglicized version of the name and called it Bangalore. The process of urbanization was very rapid in Bangalore mainly because of the public sector units. Which followed the private sector investment but the more notable fact is the academic excellence the city achieved during the past 40 years. It has more than 50000 educational institutions catering to all types of academic requirements. This is a distinction that no other city can be proud of. The city has adequate, qualified and excellent faculty to teach any subject. A student from not only India but from all over the world comes here to learn. Many of them have occupied good positions. |
